  • Ewellix electromechanical linear actuators offer outstanding controllability and efficiency
  • Large range of sizes, spindle drives, and motor-gear configurations
  • Efficient adjustment solutions for construction machinery

The electrification of construction machinery is a strategic objective of the sector that has made significant progress in recent years. Development efforts are currently focusing on highly efficient electric drive systems and electromechanical actuators. For this market, Motion Technology Company Schaeffler offers a wide range of Ewellix electromechanical linear actuators.

The actuators CAHB10 and CAHB2x, with rated forces of up to 10 kN, were specifically developed for use in construction machinery, especially small excavators, wheel loaders or dump trucks. Typical applications include signal light adjustment, ergonomic adjustment of seat height and position, safe opening and closing of heavy covers and engine hoods, roof height adjustment of open machines, swiveling of cabs and raising of jibs.

At bauma 2025, Schaeffler will also be showcasing its e-MOVEKIT, a preconfigured motor controller. The e-MOVEKIT is geared towards customers who want to procure all the necessary components to control an electromechanical actuator from a single source.

Efficient, durable and modular
The electromechanical linear actuator EMA-100 was designed to replace hydraulic cylinders on mini excavators and mini wheel loaders. The linear actuators feature a very compact design and broad range of mounting options.

The EMA-100 offers maximum drive forces of up to 60 kN in the version with ball screw and 82 kN in the case of a roller screw. Highly efficient, compact electric motors with holding brake are used as standard for the drive. With the help of an adapter, motors from all manufacturers can be installed if requested by the customer. The gear unit is flanged between the linear actuator and the motor and is available either as a spur gear or belt drive. However, the motor can also be mounted directly to the linear drive. Thanks to the high positioning accuracy and good controllability of the EMA-100 linear actuators via the bus system, several drives can be operated synchronously. Depending on the configuration, maximum linear speeds of up to 750 mm/s and stroke lengths of up to 2 m can be achieved.
