The Vehicle Lifetime Solutions Division develops and supplies components and comprehensive repair solutions for the independent automotive aftermarket worldwide. The portfolio is aimed at passenger cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles, and agricultural machinery and includes products for the drive train, engine, and chassis.

With targeted digital solutions for our distribution partners and a steadily growing service portfolio for independent garages, Schaeffler is driving digitalization in the independent aftermarket toward an improved customer experience.

The first repair solution from Schaeffler for e-axles, the Schaeffler E-Axle RepSystem – G, enables garages to professionally repair technically ambitious electric vehicles. All necessary components can be replaced in a single repair process.

The OPTIME ecosystem reduces unplanned downtimes by making predictive maintenance easier in the process industry. It combines Schaeffler’s long-standing expertise in the fields of bearing technology, vibration analysis, and lubrication with a product design that is consistently geared towards the day-to-day tasks of maintenance teams. Thanks to the plug-and-play function, hundreds of OPTIME elements can be installed and integrated within a very short time.

Schaeffler supports the energy revolution by supplying PEM (proton exchange membrane) electrolyzer stacks for industrial hydrogen production.

Two Schaeffler engineers use cutting-edge software to calculate and simulate a wind turbine drive train. Schaeffler uses the closed loop approach in which it drives the development of wind turbines by conducting simulations, realistic test-bench testing and field measurement campaigns in close cooperation with turbine and gearbox manufacturers.

Schaeffler meets the current challenges of the machine tool industry with new automation solutions with even greater dynamics, precision, energy efficiency and longer machine operating times. Direct drives, precision gear units, bearings for rotary tables and pivoting axes and angular measuring systems are an integral part of Schaeffler’s portfolio of solutions for swiveling rotary tables.

The Schaeffler Group invests heavily in the training and development of its employees - from apprentices to top management. Under the umbrella of the Schaeffler Academy, training activities are bundled across national borders for more than 250 locations in over 55 countries.

Production solutions with the highest scalability and modularity: As part of its opening to the external market, Schaeffler Special Machinery presented its portfolio for turnkey production facilities to 1,500 booth visitors at the leading trade show automatica for the first time in 2022.

Opening of the state-of-the-art tool technology center in Höchstadt on May 3, 2022. Automated and digitalized precision tools for the global network of plants are produced on a floor space of 8,000 m², particularly for the strategic future areas e-mobility and robotics, but also for mechatronic chassis applications.

Climate-neutral production from 2030: All Schaeffler production locations in Europe have been sourcing electricity exclusively from regenerative sources since 2021. The company is increasing its planning security with regard to the procurement of green electricity through power purchase agreements with partners such as Statkraft and the expansion of in-house electricity generation.

The 6+2 innovation clusters guarantee a balanced innovation portfolio within the scope of the opportunities offered by the market and technology.

An important element in R&D is the expansion of expertise in the field of system development.
